Mr David Hainsworth

Executive Chairman

David Hainsworth is a capital markets professional with more than 25 years’ experience in corporate finance, capital raising and life science investment. Previous roles include Associate Director at Alignment Capital Pty Ltd and investment advisor at Euroz Hartleys Ltd (ASX: EZL), where he originated and executed transactions across high-growth sectors.

As Executive Chairman of Algorae, David brings a deep understanding of ASX-listed corporate governance, investor relations, and the commercial and capital discipline required to build and commercialise life science businesses.

Former General Manager HPS, a part of EBOS Group (ASX: EBO) — one of Australia and New Zealand’s largest healthcare distribution businesses. David brings more than 20 years’ experience in pharmacy services and hospital medicines supply, including direct responsibility for scaling pharmaceutical supply at institutional level across the ANZ market. His experience in operational infrastructure for supplying medicines to Australian hospitals and healthcare networks at scale is the foundation of AlgoraeRx’s commercial execution.

Mr Vishal Shah

Managing Director and Chief Commercial Officer 

Vishal Shah is a commercially focused healthcare leader with extensive experience across the Australia, New Zealand, and broader APAC pharmaceutical and hospital markets. He specialises in market entry strategy, portfolio commercialisation, government and hospital tender management, and strategic partnership development within highly regulated environments.

Vishal has held both commercial and operational roles with organisations including Baxter International Inc. and HPS Pharmacies. At Baxter, he led compounding operations, managing a large multidisciplinary team responsible for production, quality assurance, and timely delivery of injectables and specialised hospital products. He drove operational excellence initiatives, ensured compliance with TGA and internal quality standards, and held full P&L responsibility for his business unit, aligning performance with strategic commercial objectives.

He has driven growth across branded and generic portfolios, working with international manufacturers to deliver scalable and commercially viable operations across ANZ and the broader APAC region. His expertise spans tender submissions, pricing strategy, supplier evaluation, regulatory-commercial alignment (including TGA requirements), and long-term channel development.

Known for his structured, transparent, and results-driven approach, Vishal combines commercial discipline with strong stakeholder engagement. He partners closely with manufacturers, regulatory advisors, wholesalers, and healthcare institutions to deliver sustainable market access and growth. Vishal holds tertiary qualifications in business and healthcare-related disciplines and remains actively engaged in ANZ and APAC healthcare developments through his professional network.

Mr Waleed Elsayed

Head of Sales

Waleed is an accomplished pharmaceutical and healthcare sales leader with more than 20 years’ experience across pharmaceuticals, medical devices and healthcare services, with deep expertise in hospital markets, national account management and commercial execution across Australia and New Zealand.

He has a strong track record of delivering sustained revenue growth, leading large field-based sales teams, and managing complex public and private hospital portfolios.

Prior to starting with AlgoraeRx, Waleed served as Head of Hospital Sales at Sandoz Australia & New Zealand, following several senior commercial roles within the organisation, including Hospital Innovation Lead and National Hospital Key Account Manager.

Dr James McKenna

Chief Scientific Officer

Dr James McKenna holds a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Melbourne and has more than 23 years’ experience across academic science, commercial drug development, and intellectual property generation. Most recently he held a leadership position at an ASX-listed biotechnology company, advancing pre-clinical and clinical R&D programmes towards FDA registration. James joined Algorae in 2023 to lead the company’s scientific programs.

Prof. Fatemeh Vafaee

AlgoraeOS Principal Investigator — UNSW

Professor Fatemeh Vafaee leads the AI Biomedical Laboratory at UNSW School of Biotechnology and Biomolecular Sciences and is Deputy Director of the UNSW Data Science Hub (uDASH). She received the 2023 Asia-Pacific ‘AI in Health’ award for developing AI solutions in digital medicine and cancer diagnostics. She holds a PhD in AI from the University of Illinois, Chicago.

Dr Muhammad Heydari

Research Scientist, AlgoraeOS — UNSW

Dr Heydari holds a PhD in Artificial Intelligence from Amirkabir University of Technology, specialising in multimodal deep learning and medical data processing. With nearly a decade of experience in medtech AI, he currently serves as a Research Associate at UNSW, contributing to the AlgoraeOS platform.

Dr Kristen Bubb

Cardiovascular Programme Lead — Monash / Victorian Heart Institute

Dr Kristen Bubb holds a PhD in Physiology and leads the Translational Vascular Therapeutics Group at the Monash Biomedicine Discovery Institute and the Victorian Heart Institute. Trained at Monash and the William Harvey Research Institute in London (British Pharmacological Society International Fellowship), her research focuses on novel therapeutic targets for cardiovascular diseases.
